Steiger aide admits snoop in San Diego motel room
Michael A. Jarvis, Steiger's aide, said he went to San Diego in July 1974 to obtain tapes he believed tied Emprise founder Louis M. Jacobs to organized crime. He described placing a microphone through a wall hole with another man’s help and later retrieving the tapes after attempting to corroborate Steiger’s charges.
