Gillett Saguaro Civitan Head Named President
Theodore Gillett named president of the Saguaro Civitan Club for 1961 62. He will take office July 1. New officers include Fred Wiemann as president elect Brooks Quinsler treasurer Fred Acosta secretary Richard Styger sergeant at arms and William Campbell Richard Huff and Robert Haase as board members. All three Tucson Civitan Clubs will hold a dinner dance July 1 at the Pioneer to honor new officers. Presidents of the other clubs are Dr Robert Ratcliffe Thunder Bird Civitan Club and George Rex Tucson Civitan Club.

Second Youth Charged With Burglary
A first degree burglary charge was filed yesterday against the second of four youths after a 125 mile per hour chase by a highway patrolman. William E. Johnson 17 booked at city jail for breaking into a parked car at the Tucson Inn and taking clothing.

Wilmot Road widening project begins near Speedway
The county starts Wilmot road widening between Speedway and Tanque Verde road adding a second east side lane. Work includes laying a storm sewer and filling it to carry the new lane, with completion planned before end of summer. The west lane already protected by the city for the coming year.

Ex Tucson Man Walter Wheaton Dies at 67
Walter Martin Wheaton, former Tucson resident, died Thursday in the Veterans Hospital, Wilkes Barre, Pa, at age 67. Born in Windham, Pa, he served in U S artillery in World War I and was hospitalized 1919 to 1924. He moved to Arizona in 1924 and Tucson in 1929, managed the Tucson branch of Ariston Supply Division, American Radiator & Standard Sanitary Corp. until 1949, then returned to Windham. Funeral arrangements at Richols Mortuary and Valley Home Cemetery.
