Levy's Building Start Date Set For El Con Project
Construction of Levy's of Tucson at El Con Shopping Center is scheduled to begin soon with demolition of the El Conquistador Hotel site under an $18,900 contract. The firm Young & Deyoe Ex cavating will raze the west portion of the 7 room structure by June 12, with 21 days to finish. Levy's aims to open August 1, 1969 with 225000 square feet and 650 employees, connected to the mall for a larger 300000 square foot store after a possible third story.

Two 17 year olds collided in a parking lot at E 22nd St and S Kolb Road. R Wilson of 913 S Lehigh Drive was listed in satisfactory condition at Davis Monthan AFB Hospital with a possible broken leg. The other driver Joseph G Mick of 6217 E 31st St was not hurt. The accident occurred about 5 15 p m.

Settlement Ends Shooting Lawsuit Against Hollis Day
A $600 000 lawsuit filed by shooting victim Peter J. Roberts was dismissed after an out of court agreement. Roberts alleged Hollis Allen Day shot him causing paralysis in both legs. Day’s attempted murder charge from June 9, 1967, was previously dismissed.
