New Arizona Industrial Commission bill outlines key provisions

The proposal creates a five member part time commission under governor appointment with five year terms and 50 dollar daily pay. It sets up a three member state fund board, directs investment advice for a 110 million dollar fund, keeps appeals hearings with the commission, and places referees under the merit system. It adds a safer division with cease and desist powers and possible court injunctions for serious worker danger. It taps new taxes to fund administration and protection for uninsured workers, increases medical benefits for occupational diseases, and requires cities to insure employees with the state fund.
