Becken Named Principal at Lulu Walker Elementary School
Becken will leave as Amphitheater School District superintendent to become principal at Lulu Walker Elementary, starting this fall. He will earn 26,200 annually under an agreement that lets him finish his current contract through June 1974. Thomas E. Neel will succeed him as superintendent with a 27,000 salary.

SP Probes Yesterday's Derailment Near Sentinel Siding
Southern Pacific searched for the cause of a derailment near Sentinel Siding ten miles west of here that disrupted 24 of 128 cars in a westbound freight. No injuries were reported and the derailed cars were empty, with tracks due to be cleared by noon. The Sunset Limited would arrive on schedule.

A southwest Tucson coalition plans a Saturday petition drive to urge Arizona lawmakers to repeal laws that limit local government mining site decisions. Protestors picketed Conoco drilling near Sheila and Caro Roads as crews paused for the night. Moran plans new Florence prison warden within a week
