California Man Jailed In Tucson After Speeding
California man Marion R. McManus, 49, of Morgan Hill, was arrested in Tucson on suspicion of drunk driving and carrying a concealed weapon after Patrolman Howard Feinstein stopped him for speeding in a school zone near W 6th St and Main Ave. A half empty pint of liquor and a loaded rifle were found in the front seat of his station wagon.

Melvin Jones 82 founder of Lions International died at home in Flossmoor after years of ill health following strokes. He started the service club in 1917 guiding it to 625000 members in 111 nations and 427000 members in 11300 clubs in the United States. Funeral services will be Monday at the Chicago temple.
