Warne urges Alaska funding to $60.99 million in Senate panel
William E. Warne assistant secretary of the interior asked a senate appropriations subcommittee to raise Alaska funding next year to 60,994,651 dollars matching the president's 60 million proposal. He noted rapid development and a surge of homestead applications as critical to future Pacific relations and stressed a five day schedule to finish work usually done in weeks. The interior push seeks 459,970,835 dollars from the budget bureau, while the bureau of land management wins support amid calls to retain field offices and avoid overhauls.
