Jail escapees seize hostages and flee courthouse scene
Six inmates led by a man named Sargeant escape from a county jail with a hostage Mrs. Gustavo Ruiz. They ransack a cell block, steal tools and cash, and flee toward the sheriff's office where a deputy fires a borrowed pistol to halt the escape. Police recapture most, with suspects tied to a $6,000 holdup and pending trials.
