Geothermal plan eyed to heat Portland from Mt Hood
Northwest Natural Gas Co proposes drilling two exploratory wells on Mt Hood to access hot water from a 10,000 acre area. The project aims to deliver water at about 150 degrees Fahrenheit via a buried pipeline to Portland factories and possibly homes, pending U.S. Forest Service permitting and leases.
