Inmate Sentenced for Mail Threat to President Carter

Omar Contreras, 31, a State Prison inmate, received a five year federal sentence for mailing a letter threatening President Carter. Contreras, serving 610 years for armed robbery in Mesa, pleaded guilty to sending the letter on January 26 to many clerical workers, Cardwell said.
