Paris, Nov. 18. In a joyous, spontaneous display, residents formed linked hands and crowded the streets to kiss every American soldier met. Conventions vanished as young and old joined in singing French, English, and American tunes, celebrating freedom from wartime burdens.
King Albert Queen Elizabeth and Prince Leopold enter Ghent amid vast crowds and showers of roses. The royal party review veterans at Place d Armes before city hall honors and cheers, while citizens recall resilience of wartime hero Van Artevelde.
French forces entered Mulhausen as crowds cheered the liberators. Citizens waved banners and threw tokens while General Hirchaner and his staff were greeted at City Hall. A mob attempting to seize a Black man from the city jail last night resulted in five deaths and twenty injuries among whites and Black residents. The accused man faces charges of assaulting Jim Childress and his wife and is linked to the shooting of Sheriff Flynt.

In Castellon on November 18 a crowded motion picture theater saw an unidentified person cry Fire. Twenty children and eleven soldiers were trampled to death. Twelve children were severely injured and twenty five were slightly hurt.
