Man Rouses In Casket During Hearse Ride
In Highland Falls residents on Main Street watched a hearse stop and a man escape from a casket amid shouts and profanity. The escapee, a member of the notorious Kettle Gang, had been napping in the coffin and was found alive. The vehicle belonged to I. B. Wheeler, an undertaker ousted by the sheriff.
