In Oton on March 13 labor leaders met with secretary Easley of the Civic Federation to discuss coal teamster strikes and fuel shortages. About 21,000 workers are involved with potential wider action. Avor Collins, Governor Crane, and Harvard president Eliot attended a long, private discussion to seek peace and a possible joint meeting of business leaders.

The case follows an ongoing marital dispute where Martha Wise, 60, stands charged by her husband with crimes aged 80 and 35 years earlier. Several children testified about years of alleged abuse by the husband, while Martha Wise maintains she bears a strong reputation and has faced no prior accusations. The court has the matter under advisement amid local sensational interest.
