Spaughs Captured After Cabin Battle Near Ironton
In Trenton on June 1 two brothers known as the Spaughs were captured by a ten man county posse led by Marshal John J. Marshall near Ironton. Arthur Spaugh was wounded in the left side during the exchange after their cabin was surrounded by Winchester fire. Bill Spaugh remained in the cabin during the fight as authorities took the pair into custody and transported them to Iron County Jail.
