Washington news reports the capital of Alaska was moved from Sitka to Juneau after Gov Hoggatt rented offices there. The attorney general ruled the action effected the change. Also notes Taft granted Niagara river power permits to three firms.

Andrews age 72 dead at Lincoln Illinois, Seattle judge questions sanity of Holy Roller women, Missouri to erect building at the Jamestown Exposition.
The fourteenth Inter-Parliamentary Union session began in London with about 500 delegates. Lord Weardale welcomed the Russians, who, after a dramatic pledge by the British premier that the Russian parliament lives on, announced they must depart as they no longer hold official status and return to Russia.
William Jennings Bryan spoke at a London peace conference and received an ovation as he addressed the assembled delegates.

In Fulton Missouri Edmund Bailey was found not guilty after 24 hours of deliberation for the murder of Jay Lawler. Bailey claimed the unwritten law as his defense. In the same case Mrs Bailey was acquitted on a charge of complicity also by the jury.
A constabulary detachment led by Lieut Williams clashed with a 600-strong Pulajanes band near Burauen Leyte. Ten soldiers and one civilian were killed while the detachment retreated. Pursuit returned with 46 Pulajanes killed.
