A bank in New Mexico faced a tunnel robbery plan with a 60 foot underground shaft built over three months. A Mexican insider was slain when a lookout crew encountered guards and investigators. The thieves fled as fire alerted authorities during a remittance period.
A New York Financier report warns Mexico’s iron industry could grow dramatically. The Durango Carro del Mercado mountain is famed and touted as containing about 300,000,000 tons of ore with 70 percent iron above the plains. Nearby deposits near the Balsas mouth and along the Pacific coast are also noted as highly valuable.

Emily Morgan, a colored woman from Columbus, Georgia, reputedly the state's oldest resident, died at 117. Known as Aunt Emily she did washing until age 109, and later endured a lingering illness for a year or two.

Colonel William F. Tucker U S A retired who recently divorced in Chicago married Mrs Myrtle Platt in Detroit. The ceremony was by Justice of the Peace Felix A Lemkie at the home of Rev W S Sayres where Mrs Platt had been a guest.
