Left Note To Children In Highland Tragedy
Vincent Scheech, 40, of High Embroidery Works, left a note before vanishing his family to Arkansas. He was found dead on the Water dacia track. inquest by Deputy Coroner Schrrttinger returned a verdict of death by own action. The family moved to Highland after his wife’s death, with his five motherless children. One child fell ill with pleurisy after arrival, adding strain to his care and likely worsening his mental state.

Passing of Benjamin Mize in Bunker Hill area
Mrs. I. W. Cook attended the funeral for Benjamin Mize who died at his home near Bunker Hill last Wednesday. In his 85th year, Mize was a cousin of Mrs. Cook’s father. An obituary from the Bunker Hill Gazette News notes he was born in North Caro.

Glen Carbon Miner Kills Himself After Revolver Tragedy
Mike Borola a 29 year old Bohemian miner in Glen Carbon shot himself four times in a clearet price hist Saturday afternoon then fired the last bullet in his head at home. He had shown melancholia in days prior and after work Friday night began acting withdrawn. Deputy Coroner Lowe ruled death by his own action. Borola belonged to the Red Men lodge and the Glen miners union.

Louis Bour Awarded Damages in Railway Injury Case
Louis Bour of this city received damages of 0,427 dollars Wednesday in the tirewit court against the St. Louis and Northeastern railway for injuries suffered two years ago in an accident. Bour was working a stolen horse near the McKinley booster station at Stallings when he was injured and lay unconscious at Granite City hospital for weeks. He had originally sued for 25,000 dollars and the railroad has given a native of appeal to the appellate court.
