Ray Brom of Decatur was sentenced to forty years in the penitentiary for the murder of Fireman Richard L. Roberts last summer. An arrest of judgment had been granted pending higher court action, but Brom's attempted jail escape prompted immediate sentencing and transfer to the penitentiary.
Great preparations are under way for a Central Illinois wolf chase to be held in Christian county on December 26. A Dakota wolf has been brought in and is being fed on chicken and rabbit.
