Troy Detectives Probe Thefts Over Weekend
Troy detectives investigate weekend thefts at two homes and a fraternity house. Frank Moran reported a wallet and papers stolen from his Bedford Island residence between 8 and 9 p.m. Saturday while he and his wife were at home. Eugene Kremer, Tau Epsilon Phi at 185 2nd St., said entry occurred between 4 and 8 a.m. Saturday with losses of 30 to 40 dollars from several students. Det. William M. Donovan and Plainclothesman William E. Bell led the inquiry.

Two Area Men To Receive Honorary Degrees
Francis E. Griffin of Niska Yuna former Russell Sage College instructor and rural education leader will be among five to receive honorary degrees at Hartwick College Founder’s Day in October. Griffin heads Rural Administration Services for the State Education Department and will be awarded Doctor of Humane Letters. Rev. Settlement Authorized in Auto Claim near Lake George
Supreme Court Justice Harry E. Schir authorized a 400 settlement for Patricia Sanford a five year old girl injured in an automobile accident near Lake George. The incident occurred July 27 1957 on Route 9 between Glens Falls and Lake George when a car ahead stopped suddenly and the Kennedy vehicle rear seat threw the child to the floor injuring her neck. Willam E. Noonan represented the Kennedy car owner driver insured carrier.
