Deep Down Tree I Grew For 17 Years
In Kirkland Lake Ontario a 17 year old apple tree at the 3150 foot level of the Sylvanite gold mine is dead while a Florida orange tree survives in a constant ten degree temperature. Planted by Leo St Onge, a retired miner, seeds from its lunch bucket sprouted and were kept alive with a 1,000 watt bulb, mine air, and daily watering at lunch. Neither tree bore fruit, both remained dwarfed as they grew.
