Sergeant Anslow Awarded Bronze Star for Anzio Heroism
Sergeant Anslow of 1225 Fifteenth Street retired Troy policeman receives the Bronze Star for heroism at Anzio. He saved equipment during a heavy barrage by helping extinguish fires and move a burning trailer amid exploding ammunition. He previously served in the 10574 Infantry and with paratroops. Also noted, William H. Lysz of Albany elected director of the New York State Solid Fuel Merchants Association in Syracuse.
