Cohoes Delays in State Land Sale Hurt Local Industry

Cohoes Industrial Commission chair Kenneth A. Gilchrist says delays by the state in appraising and selling more than ten acres of abandoned canal lands for an industrial park have cost the city two or more businesses and threaten others waiting to purchase the tract. Local and state officials cite vacation schedules and agency interest as factors in the holdup. The land borders the Hudson River and includes access near Matton Shipyard and Delaware & Hudson tracks.
