Chart saved by flyer during war links to Cape Cod canal

Lieutenant Snow recovered a 200 year old Massachusetts Bay Chart showing an ancient Cape Cod Canal lost since. The note on the copper plate records Captain Samuel Bellamy’s 1717 wreck of the Whidda with bullion, while Snow earned the nickname flying Santa Claus for delivering Christmas baskets along New England coasts.
