Gerald and Jacqueline Mauro began Cytology Screening in 1959 in Albany basement and expanded to Aviation Road Colonie and Computer Drive. The firm processes about 250 000 Pap smears yearly with five pathologists and 45 staff, guided by a patient-first philosophy after Jacqueline’s death in 1976.
