The Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing greets the Class of 1962 with 33 new students including seven from Troy. Named are Nancy J. Ahern Marion E. Freeman Patricia A. Hayes Carol R. Hughes Judith C. Kepner Roberta MacFarlane Sandra Whitman and Mary M. LaPorte from Hoosick Falls. The group reflects regional representation in the entering class.
The new class of nurses registered yesterday afternoon at the hospital residence attended by the Women’s Auxiliary and mentors. Mina Marline Lander, director of nursing, poured. Later the students met their big sisters and residence supervisors Mrs Lenora Evarts and Mrs Evelyn Stevens. A welcoming party followed as the class began instruction today.
