Pleasantdale church calendar outlines midweek services

English Auxiliary Opens Fall Meeting in St Joseph

The St Joseph P F English Auxiliary held its first fall meeting at the Chasan Building rooms. Mrs Ann Lebentritt, president, reported on the Worcester national convention. Six members were named to assist in the forthcoming nationwide X ray campaign: Mrs Amelia Russell, Mrs Charlotte Watson, Mrs Ann Lebentritt, Mrs Betty Lamb, Miss Ruth Robinson, and Mrs Christine C Beam.

F E Draper Dies Suddenly at Home in Troy

Frederick E. Draper 78 longtime Troy attorney and former state senator died suddenly at his home 172 Second Avenue. He had visited his law office earlier and died in his sleep. funeral set for Trinity Episcopal Church with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. He served as judge, state senator, and held multiple civic roles. Survived by wife Mary Jeanette Mann and four children.

Hamm Named Candidate By G O P For High Court Seat

The Albany County GOP nominates Herbert D. Hamm of North Greenbush for a full 14 year term on the New York Supreme Court with Democrats also backing the Republican jurist. N LeVan Haver led the third district nominating remarks praising Hamm’s qualifications and non partisan selection.

Two More Women Named Policemen in Troy

The Troy Police Department added two women as special patrolmen for school traffic duties, bringing the number to five. Mrs. Anna Teitsch of 34 Tyler Street and Mrs. Henrietta M. Zaluckd of 2 St. Joseph Street were appointed, announced by Mayor Edward A. Fitzgerald. John F. Mahon of 447 Third Street was also appointed as a school traffic patrolman. Chief Frank B. Kendall said the three new officers would start today to fill vacancies from resignations last year.
