Detectives Probe Troy Burglaries

Detectives from the Ivoy Dewretive Bureau investigate several weekend burglaries in Troy. The LeChapelle Service Station at Noosick and 10th streets was entered overnight, seven cigarette cartons stolen. Web's Grill on Gy Lib Street was broken into Sunday morning. a jade der used to reach a rest tem vine flaw. A vending machine was forced open. An attempt to break into the service station at Havrick Street failed. A break at Christopher's store on Campbell Avenue showed effort to force the lock. a youth seen fleeing remains under investigation. Mrs. Charlotte Crittan reported watering at her rear portico but no entry. Detectives Z. Nonaan and Thonsieft lead the inquiry with officer Berkevy and assignments to major cases.

Bishop Abstley Willan Sealy Declines New York State Chaplaincy

The Albany Diocese bishop Abstley Willan Sealy has declined to serve as state chaplain for the Knights of Columbus auxiliary organization in New York. The decision was clarified after a meeting of state officers in New York City. The Knights of Columbus auxiliary, Saint Ol 73, numbers over 1,600 Catholic women across New York. Bishop Sealy, ordained in 1941, has held roles in Catholic education and Diocesan administration, including adjutor bishop in Albany since 1944 and pastorship at St. Mary’s, Wray.

Settle Area Children Injuries Suits Settlements

A court order approved payments totaling 2,000 for three Troy area children injured in auto accidents. Joseph Dudwolve and Mary Dudwolve, ages 6 and 8, received 400 each. Claims named P. and M. Schaefer Brewing Co and Robster Smith. The accident occurred in Dorsick, Brunswick town, when their father’s car collided with a Schaefer truck.
