Federal Bank Proposed To Pay College Costs
A White House panel urged creation of an Educational Opportunity Bank to finance four years of college for qualified students. Repayment would come as 1 percent of gross income for 30 years per $3,000 borrowed, with loans up to about $15,000. Critics warn of inflation and lifelong debt while supporters see reduced cost barriers and broader access.
