Steward, Troy Baker, Succumbs at St Marys Hospital

Joseph F. Steward of Steward's Bakery 149 4th St died Wednesday at St Marys Hospital after a weeklong illness. A World War I veteran and former baker, he led the family business with his brothers. Survived by widow Maud Sweet, daughter Mrs Leo Mullin, three sisters, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral set for tomorrow 3:30 pm from W Burtis Sons Inc to St Marys Church Solemn Requiem Mass with interment in St Marys Cemetery.

Child Drowns in Pond Near Home in Monroe County

A child named LuPl)-LTwovear-all Alfohas V. Datriakumas drowned Wednesday after falling into a pond near his home while playing. His mother Angela Areriakunas discovered the body in the murky water during a search. This marks the second drowning in Monroe County within two days.

Green Island matriarch Mary McNulty dies at 92

Mrs. Mary O'Brien McNulty, longtime Green Island resident and oldest local, died Wednesday at 6 Studson Ave after a long illness. Born February 10, 1866 in County Mayo, Ireland, she came to the United States as a young girl and lived in Green Island 65 years. Survivors include four sons, three daughters, a sister in Ireland, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Funeral from the residence Monday at 8:43 a.m. to St. Procopius Church for a Solemn Requiem Mass. interment in Patrick's Cemetery, Water.
