Two MiGs were shot down near Hanoi raising the claimed air-to-air kill total to 92 for American pilots this war. In Nelson County two of the quadruplets born to Mrs John Mous er nearly two months premature died. The other two quads remained in guarded condition at St Joseph Infirmary. The couple had five other children. Statisticians estimate quads occur about once in 658,503 births.
Daniel J. Riley aged 28 from Bombay was killed when his clothing was drawn into a power saw on the John C. Miller farm near Fort Covington New York. He had worked on the farm for three years according to State Police.
The House voted to raise pay for 3.5 million servicemen with an initial 4.5 percent rise for the current fiscal year, totaling about 5.6 percent in basic pay and expanding other allowances. EAST FAIRFIELD Vt AP Jo Ann Forand 17 of Bakersfield drowned yesterday when her car went out of control and plunged into a creek. She had been reported missing by her parents Wednesday night after not returning from a Catholic Youth Organization meeting. Her body was recovered after daybreak.
