Nassau Town Faces Bar Complaint Over County Attorney Honig

Rensselaer Police Busy With Arrests And Thefts

Rensselaer officers reported several arrests and investigations over the past days including a third degree assault charge against James B. Webb who posted bail, another arrest for resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration for Clifton W. Laraway, and Gary J. May charged with disorderly conduct. A dispute involving Daniel Malark and Peter C. Squires led to a charge that was later dismissed. Malark was treated at Albany Medical Center. Over $250 in stolen items from a car owned by Francis G. Van Spinter were reported, along with thefts of construction lights from a Washington Avenue I-90 overpass job site and a tire slash on a Duck Soup area vehicle.

Halloween Film Treat Slated at Maple Hill School Friday

Maple Hill High School will host two unusual guests on Friday Oct 29 at 7 30 p m Frankenstein and The Wolfman with cartoons. The event is open to students in grades 8 12 and adults with refreshments and Halloween rites. A kids show for grades 3 7 is planned for 4 p m the same day.

Albany County Sheriff race features McNulty seeking second term

John J. McNulty, the incumbent Democrat, runs for a second three year term as Albany County Sheriff. The 53 year old Green Island businessman and funeral director faces Republican Charles Abbate. McNulty cites expanded jail training and a new holding tier, a county radio project, and a revised pay scale eliminating sex discrimination as key achievements. He plans to continue programs and add a shooting range for arms training.
