Court reinstates Corbeil to housing counselor post

Albert J. Corbeil, ousted from a $173.50 weekly housing counselor job with Cohoes Neighborhood Improvement Program, is reinstated after the Court of Appeals ruling. The court dismissed the citys appeal challenging a lower court order to rehire him, citing a 1976 Supreme Court ruling protecting non policy making public employees from removal over political beliefs. Corbeil, a Citizens Party member, had been fired when Mayor Canestrari, a Democrat, took office in 1976.
