Railroad suit seeks $250000 over Troy collision
A combined $250,000 lawsuit was filed in Supreme Court over injuries from a runaway railroad car that rolled down from Caboose and struck an automobile in Troy. Plaintiffs Hernan Simmons and Fred Hammell, both 20, seek damages of $150,000 and $100,000 respectively. Simmons is represented by Wilford A. Troy Driver Fined After Tuesday Traffic Violations
Two Vrojang arrested Tuesday by Rensselaer police on motor vehicle violations appeared in City Court yesterday. One was fined 5100, the other faces a further hearing tomorrow. Gerald Lewis and John Threw were named in the proceedings. Gertrude Sylvester, 47, Union Motel, Broadway, Troy, was charged with permitting an unlicensed driver to operate her car and driving without a license. She posted bond and will appear Friday morning. The arrests occurred on Tower Broadway after officers observed Throw driving the Sylvester cart to other vehicles in heavy morning traffic.
