Cohoes Water Discoloration to be Fixed Within Weeks
The city’s consulting engineer Joseph A. Kestner Jr reports the discoloration in Cohoes water should improve within a couple of weeks after repairs to two sodium hydroxide tanks at the filtration plant. He explains tanks, out since Aug 9 and now relined, raise alkalinity to form protective alkaline coating, with extra chlorination planned for the lower reservoir to boost water quality citywide.
