United Way Aid Highlights Cohoes Community Reach

United Way agencies in Mohawk Hudson Area aided over 14,000 Cohoes residents last year across services from Girl Scouts to senior programs. Counts include 210 young women in Girl Scouts, 773 Red Cross contacts, 1,819 older citizens, 2,828 youth in Scouting programs, and 5,168 Salvation Army cases, among others.

Saratoga Street to get full reconstruction after spring bids

Mayor Ronald Canestrari says spring work will start to correct drainage and road problems on Saratoga Street from Main to Bridge Avenue. The city plans bid to reconstruct the full length from Bridge to Main, narrow sidewalks to widen the road, relocate some poles, and install catch basins with extra pipe to fix drainage. He warns against bidding this winter and favors spring for major reconstruction.

Spain proposes changes to Troy Police Court Judgeship

Edward Spain called for converting the Troy Police Court Judgeship to part-time status and reinstating a night traffic court to ease appearances for minor violations.
