Vast Antique Collection Baffles Rome Musem Records
A sprawling and disorganized collection of 2000 musical instruments and 159000 unrelated objects amassed by Evan Gorga, a famed tenor, was left to the state of Rome. The unwieldy haul, largely uncatalogued and stored in multiple depots, prompted decades of effort to sort, catalog, and house it in a museum.
