Veterans Entitled To Old Jobs Restored After Change in Duties

Selective Service headquarters announced an interpretation of the Draft Act stating veterans cannot be required to meet higher standards for their previous jobs if the position has substantially changed since they left. A veteran can be restored to a job matching the skill and status of the former position or retrained to perform duties safely within a reasonable period. Disability should not remove a veteran from a job unless conduct or efficiency falls far below acceptable levels.
