Jewish Center hosts panel discussion on Jewish service groups
A discussion at the Jewish Community Center scheduled for this evening features three panelists from major Jewish bodies. Dr Phipp Gohstein of the National Jewish Welfare Board will speak on national Jewish service work. Charles Sherman of the Anti-Defamation League will address minority issues. A United Jewish Appeal representative will discuss coordinating fund raising and welfare efforts.

Promotion for Sidney Kur in Paris Ordnance Division
Sidney Kur son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Kur formerly of 120 First Street now in Parkchester has been promoted to captain and stationed in Paris with an ordnance division his parents received a cablegram. A Troy High School graduate he joined the Army in April 1941 was discharged in November that year then recalled after Pearl Harbor later becoming a corporal at Camp Blanding and promoted to staff sergeant in July before being commissioned in 1942 at an English base he has served with the Signal Supply Service.
