Court Rules On Hotel Pay Rate
An Albany appeals court ruled unanimously that hotels must adjust pay scales to the state minimum wage law. The decision allows tips meals and lodging to offset the base wage of 1.50 dollars while following Labor Department standards, with tips and meal allowances raised and maid tips set, retroactive to January 1 and in effect ahead of a 1.60 dollar minimum wage next February 1.

Youth Fined in Saratoga Court for Unsafe Tires
Gary R. Ingles, 19, of Ballston Lake, pleaded guilty to driving with unsafe tires before Judge LeRoy T. Walbridge in Saratoga Springs City Court. He was fined $10 after originally facing trial on running a stop sign. Ingles was arrested July 16 by Patrolman Richard Jordan.
