New Moon Thought Near Jupiter May Be Discovered
Weathered report discusses Dr. Seth B. Nicholson of Mount Wilson and Palomar Observatories asserting a possible new moon of Jupiter. If confirmed, Nicholson would join Galileo in discovering Jupiter’s satellites, with the object possibly 15 miles across and moving with Jupiter though orbital confirmation is needed. Jupiter is described as 11 times Earth’s size, brilliant in the night sky, and nearing Earth’s orbital distance, highlighting recent moon discoveries by Nicholson after Galileo’s first four moons.
