Mechanicville Sergeant Jackson's fast ration breakdown system
Sergeant John Townsend Jackson, son of Mr and Mrs Townsend Jackson of Mechanicville, has developed a quick method to break down battalion rations at Camp Edwards Massachusetts. The system cuts daily work from a full day to about three to four hours each morning, with complete battery ration breakdown in roughly 15 minutes after supplies arrive. Approved by Brigadier General Joseph E Farrellman, the method is urged for campwide use. Jackson serves as ration sergeant of the 52nd AAA Battalion, enlisted in 1938, and has earned three medals including American Theater, American Defense, and Good Conduct.
