Home Rendering of Cooking Fats Urged by Bureau
The Rensselaer County Home Bureau urges housewives to render fats at home to stretch red ration points for meat cheese and fat. They claim homemade fat can save points and reduce waste by combining fats from meat bacon and poultry into a usable cooking fat with a better flavor and texture using a double boiler and a splash of ink per two pounds of fat. More information is available at the Home Bureau office in the Two Post Office Building on the second floor.
