Mayor Seeks Temporary ROW for Underpass at John and Lyman

Mayor Richard A. Severson told the Village Board he will ask the Boston and Maine Railroad for a temporary right of way to the John and Lyman streets underpass. The plan aims to level the old roadbed and surface with gravel for an emergency highway before winter. The move follows last week's six crossings tieup and seeks quicker access for police, fire, and rescue needs. He will also protest the Dooley trestle bridge closure during repairs, which delayed workers and business in First Ward and Clay Hill.
