Open House Program At Lansingburg High School

LHS plans an art open house during Parents Night Monday Nov 24 at the school. Marshall W. Wheely ey chairs the program with faculty and student help. the Bareau Teacher Assn executive board met at the Engle home. Leslie W. Cathays presided. reports on membership and community drive were given. Family Night at First Presbyterian Church served over 200. senior girls assisted. A food sale will be held at the open house with room mothers contacting parents for baked goods.

Funeral Held For Mrs. Belden at Glinton Heights

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Belden of Glinton Heights. The rites occurred at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Mass celebrated by Reverends Meer Forman Phillips and Kelly. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy. Belden, born in Troy, lived in the area before moving to the Heights and had worked as a cook for Behr Manning Co. in Watervliet for decades. She was mother to Edward Talbot and grandmother to Joan Chabate, Garo Talbot, and Robert Talbot.

Spring Ave Crash Leads To Arrest Involving Teens

Police report a Saturday crash on Spring Avenue near 1st and 2nd avenues, injuring Robert Wilson 43. Involved youths 16-year-olds Ald Ellis and Gary Cullett 16, with a 1952 station wagon linked to Donald McGugan Jr. The four vehicles were damaged. arrests followed for grand larceny first degree as the teens allegedly fled in the car, then abandoned it. Marine sergeant Irving A. McKinney graduation noted. Public notice of amateur radio club activities at Troy High with call letters K2VSR and plans for PLA carnival booths. The report mentions another two-car collision near Wyantskill Felday injuring Wilson.

Vigan Dry 81 Hospitalized After River Patrol Incident

Injured person transported to hospital after a patrol encounter described as involving the North Greenbish Ambulance. Trooper Joseph B. Hestin of the Ayeril Park patrol investigated the incident.
