Cohoes Seeks Resident Input On 1.9 Million HUD Funds

The city hosts a second community development workshop at Keveny Memorial Academy to gather resident ideas on spending 1.9 million dollars in federal funds. Seniors plan trek for funds in Cohoes drive

Volunteers from the Senior Citizens Center will trek through Cohoes on Thursday to raise funds for a new center on Remsen Street. Director Michael Cooley says they seek cash donations or pledges to furnish the northern Remsen Street site, with nearly $50,000 raised in the first phase and the second phase starting Thursday.

The penny social at Cohoes American Legion Post 476 is set for November 18 at 8 p.m. Donated articles may be brought to 308 Vliet Boulevard. Columbiettes meet at Knights of Columbus Hall with Barbara Gary presiding and a first degree at 7 30. Plans for a Christmas party and a testimonial dinner for Rev. Joseph Amato are announced with multiple chairmen. Rev. James Hayes to speak at the dinner.

Mark Maloney 22 of 62 Congress St Cohoes pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired and entered a drinking while driving program. Robert Burns 28 of Averill Park pled guilty to resisting arrest after a chalice incident, with a suspended license and related charges. Catherine Terry 64 of Troy pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and failing to keep right.
