Mechanicville Faces Decision On Joining County Sewer Plan
City officials and Chamber of Commerce directors weigh options to conform with State Pure Waters Act. Mechanicville could join the Saratoga County central system for about 28.15 million dollars, build a secondary plant, or cooperate with Stillwater Halfmoon and Hemstreet Park. If rejecting the county system, deadlines push toward a “no” by December 1 with later steps through 1972 for construction and compliance.

Berlin Bond Vote Restricted To Land Owners
Berlin town officials were informed by the State Department of Audit and Control that the November 18 bond vote for 10 000 to buy land for a town park must be limited to property owners. The Youth Commission backs an option on 60 acres on the southeast Hollow Road and Route 22 area, with prior votes on similar measures failing. The ruling cites state law as controlling until a court overturns it, despite a related Supreme Court school district case. The Senate met briefly on December 27, 1963.
