Auto Mishap Near Clifton Park Ends In Severe Injuries
Burton Coons of Clifton Park escaped with severe facial and carp injuries when his auto plunged about fifty feet down an embankment after leaving Route on Dead Mans Hill two miles north of Clifton Park. The car rolled through a field to a less steep bank before reaching the road. Coons was taken to Benedict Memorial Hospital at Ballston Spa for observation. State Troopers A H Sarney and H VT Pitcher of the Saratoga Springs outpost investigated.

Mrs Reid Appointed To City Post In Troy
Mrs Mary J Reid of 5 Bolivar Avenue is named supervisor of nurses in the municipal health department. The newly created post carries a $2000 annual salary. Reid, former executive secretary for the Rensselaer County Red Cross chapter, began work yesterday after resigning a Red Cross post held ten years. She previously supervised Troy Hospital outpatient department and did hospital social welfare work as a volunteer.

Troy Boy to Report For Candidate School
Sergt Richard Y Bayly of the Air Base Squadron at Hunter Field Savannah has been chosen to attend the Army Air Forces Administrative Officer Candidate School at Miami Beach Florida. He will report for training Saturday Nov 13. Bayly entered service April 9 1942 and with legal experience was assigned as an investigator of legal cases at Hunter Field. He later transferred to the base legal office as claim investigator. Bayly is a graduate of La Salle Institute and Siena College and was employed as an investigator for Murphy Alduch Guy and Broderick. A veteran horseman, he holds ribbons from horse shows across the east and is visiting his parents Mr and Mrs Richard Y Bayly at 21 Pawling Avenue.
