The 1977 Hoosick budget of 257 425 20 was approved after a public hearing with no residents in attendance. A 500 increase funds No Man s Land fire protection up to 1 500. Taxes to be raised 183 037 38, exact tax increase not yet known. The board also allocates 500 to Battlefield for Bennington Committee for next year s Battle of Bennington anniversary in Walloomsac.

Advocates urged for rape crisis center board and budget shifts

Katz urged creating a larger board for the battered center and a law committee subcommittee for oversight. She criticized Albany County's proposed next year budget of 49213.98 as unrealistically low and proposed 70250 citing inflation and low salaries including the highest paid staff at 12000 with a doctorate. Leyden said the law committee would weigh the proposals with no immediate action planned.
