Type Union Defeats Salary Boost Plan

Indianapolis 44 members of the International Typographical Union rejected salary and pension proposals. The salary raise would have boosted presidents Woodruff Randolph and Don F Hind Hurd to $12,900 and $10,000 respectively, with other officers and ITU officers also affected. The pension plan offered weekly benefits for each two year term, up to 50 percent of salaries, but was soundly defeated in the vote.
