O Neil treated for wounds, andence of the crew reported harrowing moments as enemy fighters attacked. Caesar De Vita of Tacoma achieved a perfect sight on Tojo fighters and helped down one attacker. another fighter collided with a Liberator, causing a crash with no survivors.
